“How can we organize and improve transgender care in a future-oriented way, what does that mean for our position, our story and our organization?”
The number of people requesting gender care has increased significantly in recent years. The Gender Dysphoria Knowledge and Care Center (KZcG, Amsterdam UMC) experiences this increasing pressure daily. In collaboration with On the Morro, the annual offsite has been designed to develop a future vision and plan with workable actions that help the centre prioritize and organize optimal future-oriented transgender care.
This program has been developed step by step and continued to evolve. It was designed and executed in close collaboration with our clients, Annelijn Wensing and Ynske Looije, and working groups that acted as catalysts for change. The different meetings varied from groups of 5 to 100 participants, from board to organization-wide level. It is a process of learning by doing, in which active reflection is of great importance for increasing the impact of the plans. Those involved are given the opportunity to make choices that build on the current successes and are in line with personal ambitions.
